What motivated you two to build a house with a fantasy room?
It’s a question we’re often asked. And the short answer is: sexual health.
We wanted to create a space where couples could reconnect, rekindle, and grow—emotionally, physically, and sexually. A space that encourages open communication, trust, and exploration. Somewhere playful, luxurious, and safe—without judgement.
To be honest, we were nervous at first. In a socially conservative country like South Africa, linking a luxury cabin to a “sex room” felt risky. Skaam Cabin was a major personal and financial investment, and attaching a theme that could be misunderstood or stigmatized wasn’t a decision we took lightly.
But we leapt—and we’re so grateful we did. The support has been overwhelming. The feedback from guests and even strangers has been heartwarming. Many have thanked us for creating something bold, beautiful, and liberating. It’s affirmed what we hoped: that sexual health and connection matter, and that there’s a need for spaces like this.
We’ve also come to realise there’s a growing community of sexually liberated individuals and couples in South Africa who long for an elegant, upmarket, and sensual space to explore.
To every guest who’s visited Skaam Cabin: thank you for stepping into this space with openness and curiosity. Your feedback—what worked, what didn’t, what could be better—is deeply valued and helps us grow.
In time, we plan to expand the offering with curated services from sexual wellness professionals: think sensual massage therapists, erotic photographers, sexologists, and more.
Skaam Cabin is not just a getaway—it’s an invitation to connect more deeply with yourself and your partner.
